BNPL emerged a decade ago but it has gained traction over the recent years especially during the covid-19 pandemic when the e-commerce sector grew faster than expected. The preferred PoS method in the Middle East is more likely made through Cash on Delivery (COD) for lower sized transactions, whereas the PoS method for higher sized transactions are paid through Debit or Credit Cards. BNPL is a good alternate to COD as it enables the consumers to make deferred payment at no interest cost and could also replace credit cards as it has lesser interest charges on late payments. With the increasing acceptance of BNPL in the PoS space and substantial funding raised by many BNPL players, the BNPL industry is expected to grow at a faster pace compared to other PoS system over the coming years
