Had one noticed keenly in the past couple of years, Saudi was on a bidding spree and its efforts were fruitful. From Asian Cup to FIFA World Cup and Dirayah Biennale to World Expo, all have an impact on the Saudi economy and mostly it is what Saudi hoped for – positive.
The numbers prove this. The Saudi Events Market is expected to exceed USD 17.6 billion by 2031. Saudi Arabia also launched the ‘Events Investment Fund’ in 2023 to finance and oversee the development of 35 venues by 2030 entwined with sustainability. It seeks to nurture the public and private partnerships and boost foreign direct investments in the country to create an impact on its GDP and economy.
Saudi Arabia has clasped hosting global events as an opportunity to show the world their achievements in the past decade. Taking notes from its fellow GCC countries, Saudi is aiming to establish itself as a new global go-to. In line with its ambitious Vision 2030, the country is inching closer to making its dream come true.
